THE WHY:
The World Health Organisation describes mental health as a state of wellbeing where an individual realises their own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively, and is able to make a contribution to their community. Our mental health affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Looking after your mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood to adulthood.
Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities.
