On Friday, May 8th, from 6-8 PM, Housing Up will host a Mother's Day self-care event for the moms living in our Partner Arms II (PAII) community. Housing Up is a nonprofit that builds thriving communities in DC by developing affordable housing and offering comprehensive support services to formerly homeless and low income families.
This event is designed to help the moms at PAII feel valued and build community in a fun and relaxed setting. The evening will feature three interactive stations: Body, Mind, and Soul, where moms can pick spa items, enjoy food, and play games.
We have a few things Volunteers can help with, including:
- Event setup (5-5:30 PM)
- Serving food and drinks
- Leading vision board activities
- Facilitating spa-themed games
- Running one of the three stations
- Restocking supplies
On Saturday, May 9th, from 10 AM-1PM, we'll also host a garden clean-up at our Fort View community. All supplies will be provided, though volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening gloves.
