ROOTS OF EMPATHY PROGRAM-CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
A few DCPS and Private Schools are looking for local families with a baby that will be 2-4 months in September/October/November to volunteer for the Roots of Empathy program. If you'd like to hear from a family who volunteered last year, just let me know! I'd be happy to connect you with some!
Roots of Empathy is seeking volunteer families in the DC community! Roots of Empathy is a school-based program that nurtures empathy through a baby-led approach. At Roots of Empathy, the families and the babies are the heartbeat of all that our program does. Guided by a certified instructor and relevant curriculum, children learn to recognize emotions in both the baby and themselves. This fosters a sense of shared vulnerability and common emotions, encouraging inclusivity and acceptance. Since 1996, Roots of Empathy has operated on four continents, impacting 1 million children across various languages. If you or someone you know in the community would be interested, please contact me, ashoemaker@.... You can also fill out the form at this link.
