City Gate, Inc. is an urban ministry in Washington, D.C. seeking to open doors of opportunity, empowerment, and friendship. Our focus is on the children and the youth in the city, and their families. We have a strong track record of engaging at-risk youth grades K-12 in quality afterschool and summer day camp programs that focus on academics, social-emotional learning, life skills development, and off-site expeditionary learning. After-School teacher aid/tutor
City Gate, Inc. is committed to empowering a new generation of courageous and capable leaders through a student-centered approach. Help us achieve our mission by signing up to assist our teachers in providing specialized reading support to individual students and small groups!
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist in improving the reading abilities of elementary aged children for the After-School Program in a residential community.
- Help create lesson plans and practice skills with a diverse group of students.
- Assist lead teachers with program and classroom management
- Other duties as assigned.
Time Commitment: One Semester (September - December)
Shifts: M-F: 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm | 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
