Serve DC supporting the 9/11 Day of Service for a large-scale meal packing project at the Washington Convention Center! DC is one of many cities being activated all over the country. We expect to engage over 1,000 volunteers from area corporations to pack more than 185,000 meals for hungry families living locally. There will be on-site entertainment, guest emcees, a diverse group of faith leaders, community and corporate leaders.
Onsite training will also be provided for all volunteers. We recommend not bringing bags into the venue. Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes and should limit jewelry.
Our hospitality staff will help to support either our VIPs (in the VIP room) and/or Support Staff and Lead Volunteers (in their training room) by working to ensure that meals are set out and served on time, that spaces remain clean and organized, that drinks/snacks are replenished as needed, and that all other onsite VIP needs are met.
Total Volunteers Needed: 8 per shift
