In an effort to support our neighbors who are presently experiencing a Boil Water Advisory in Ward 5, Serve DC is actively recruiting community volunteers to help distribute water at four centrally located distribution sites within the ward.
The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) has issued a Boil Water Advisory for several neighborhoods within the northeastern quadrant of the city. DC Water advises affected customers to not drink or cook their water without boiling it first.
Serve DC, in partnership with DC HSEMA and DC Water is in need of volunteers to help distribute water at four of the distribution sites located in Ward 5.
Volunteers will be asked to do the following:
- Distribute water
- Carry water to vehicles
* Food may be provided to volunteer at site.
* All activities will occur outside
* Light to moderate lifting is required
