The Museum of Unnatural Disasters is a public pop-up exhibit in Washington, D.C. exploring how climate change and extreme weather are impacting communities across the country through storytelling, educational displays, and firsthand accounts from people affected by flooding, heat waves, wildfires, storms, and other climate-related disasters.
We are seeking volunteers to help support the exhibit from June 3–14. Volunteers may assist with greeting visitors, helping guide guests through the experience, answering basic questions, supporting event operations, and helping create a welcoming and engaging environment for the public.
The exhibit is designed as an accessible public education experience focused on climate resilience, community storytelling, and civic engagement. Extreme weather survivors will also serve as docents throughout the exhibit, sharing perspectives from their own communities and experiences.
This is a great opportunity for students, educators, environmental advocates, community members, and anyone interested in climate, sustainability, public engagement, or experiential learning.
Shifts are flexible and available throughout the exhibit run, including daytime and evening opportunities.
