ONE DC is excited to announce our Juneteenth in DC 2023 Community event where we will celebrate liberation at our ONE DC Black Workers & Wellness Center , and commemorate the continued struggle for Black liberation and justice!
The Juneteenth Community Event will happen on Monday, June 19 from 11AM - 5PM.
Juneteenth is an annual celebration to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved Black people in Texas on June 19, 1865. This is a time for us to reflect on our collective history of fighting for emancipation and equity, to celebrate and be joyful about our triumphs, and to recommit with passion and discipline to the current struggle for liberation.
Juneteenth will feature guided tours of the BWWC building, live go-go music by local artists, a performance by the Black Workers Chorus, food vendors, and more!
