Who We Are

Together with our volunteers, we help high school and college students learn which careers are out there, and meet mentors in their favorite fields.  We want every student to feel like every industry is accessible to them.

Even if students hold identities that have been historically underrepresented (such as race, gender, orientation and more), they can build a network of professionals who share those identities and successfully close the gaps we see in the workforce today.

What We Do

GoPursue is a website where employees mentor high school students to pursue their favorite careers.

Volunteers demystify their industry for students, while companies get students into their entry-level employment openings and exposure to Career & Tech. Education programs in public schools. GoPursue serves students studying Career & Technical Education in select public high schools in VA, DC, MD, and NYC. We aim to reach over 5,000 students during school year '23-'24.

GoPursue is like LinkedIn, where professionals share their career journeys and students reach out for individual advice. Mentors create a simple "career profile" in 15-20 minutes, and instantly, thousands of students can deepen their understanding of each industry. Likewise, Companies and Associations post job opportunities and get positive brand exposure with the next generation.

GoPursue is designed to flex to busy schedules, so this volunteer opportunity is primarily virtual and asynchronous. Students occasionally send messages through the platform, then you can respond when you have time.
