Volunteer: Volunteer Support – NHCOA Capitol Hill Briefing & Older Adult Assistance

The National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA) is seeking compassionate and energetic volunteers to support our upcoming Capitol Hill Briefing in Washington, DC.

This nonpartisan event will bring together older adults, community leaders, advocates, and policymakers to discuss important topics impacting aging communities, including Social Security, Alzheimer’s prevention, HIV prevention, prescription drug pricing, and healthcare access.

Volunteers will play an essential role in helping older adults navigate the event safely and comfortably. Responsibilities may include:
• Assisting with wheelchair mobility and participant guidance
• Greeting and directing attendees
• Supporting event logistics and setup
• Assisting older adults during congressional visits and transitions between locations
• Helping create a welcoming and inclusive environment

NHCOA is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Hispanic and underserved older adults through advocacy, education, health promotion, and community services. Throughout the year, NHCOA hosts wellness activities, technology classes, food distributions, advocacy events, and community engagement programs at our Washington, DC housing facility and throughout the city.

Volunteer Details:
• Date: May 21
• Arrival Time: 11:30 AM – 11:45 AM
• Event Time: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
• Volunteer Commitment: Until approximately 3:00 PM
• Location: Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, DC

Light refreshments will be provided. Transportation assistance may also be available if needed.
