Mayor’s Office of Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing (MODDHH) 

The mission of MODDHH is to advance the civil rights of the Deaf, DeafBlind, Deaf Disabled, Hard of Hearing, and Late Deafened (D/DB/DD/HH/LD) communities by ensuring and overseeing District-wide compliance with laws that affect the corresponding communities; as well as provide D/DB/DD/HH/LD District of Columbia residents with access to constituent development programs, resources, and services. 

MODDHH is looking for volunteers to support the Program Coordinator with planning programs and events to engage DDBDDHHLD communities and DC governments. Duties: 

  • Assist with planning and coordinating events and workshops.
  • Assist in connecting with communities and DC Government agencies. 

Education and Experience Qualifications: 

Currently enrolled in a four-year college pursuing a bachelor's in business administration, communication, or hospitality related fields

Some experience in planning events or programs 

Some experience with Microsoft Word 

Effective communication skills and people engagement skills

Must effectively communicate in American Sign Language
