Be part of an unforgettable, adventure as a volunteer at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian National Museum of American History! Guide visitors from towering dinosaurs in Fossil Hall through Earth’s past, ocean wonders, and hands-on games, into an all-American road trip celebrating the nation’s 250th birthday with interactive exhibits like In Pursuit of Life, Liberty & Happiness. Help create a seamless journey at both museums that sparks curiosity, discovery, and connection.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Co-Lead Exciting Activities: Guide kids through thrilling games, puzzles, crafts, and challenges across various museum halls.
  • Make a Difference: Help children learn about multiple parts fascinating history with in America and our Natural world
  • Assist in Scavenger Hunts: Facilitate educational scavenger hunts where young minds will explore the museum in search of knowledge and fun!


Volunteer Duties Include:

  • Setting up activity stations and supplies (lifting up to 10 lbs)
  • Leading games, crafts, and educational demonstrations
  • Assisting with scavenger hunts and other learning activities
  • Cleaning up and loading out activities at the end of the night (around 11pm)
  • Flexibility for last-minute changes and assignments
