District of Columbia Board of Elections has modified its operations in order to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus (COVID‐19). We are committed to providing a safe environment where every vote is counted. Voting by mail is strongly encouraged to protect the public, staff and election workers.
On June 2, 2020 (Election Day) 20 Vote Centers will be open to allow voters to same day register to vote, update voter registration, vote in‐person, and submit ballots received by mail.
Volunteers are primarily needed to assist outside of the Voting Centers:
-
Volunteers will ensure voters adhere to social distancing and safety practices
-
Volunteers will ensure line control and management
-
Volunteers will direct voters to Voting Center staff who can answer questions
-
Volunteers will direct voters with accessibility needs to BOE staff
