District of Columbia Board of Elections has modified its operations in order to mitigate the spread of the  coronavirus  (COVID‐19). We are  committed  to  providing a  safe environment  where every  vote  is  counted. Voting  by  mail  is  strongly  encouraged  to  protect  the  public,  staff  and  election  workers. 

On June 2, 2020 (Election Day) 20 Vote Centers will  be open to allow voters to same day register to vote, update voter registration,  vote in‐person, and submit ballots received by mail.

Volunteers are primarily needed to assist outside of the Voting Centers:

 

  • Volunteers will ensure voters adhere to social distancing and safety practices 

  • Volunteers will ensure line control and management

  • Volunteers will direct voters to Voting Center staff who can answer questions 

  • Volunteers will direct voters with accessibility needs to BOE staff
