RockStars4Impact is a Washington, DC-based, youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by high school student Isabella Getahun. We create opportunities for young people to develop their voices, lead with purpose, and turn their ideas into meaningful civic action through mentorship, education, research, and community service.
Our programs include 5 Minute Mentors and Civics Remix, a peer-led civics, humanities, and AI ethics program that teaches students to identify bias, evaluate evidence, question systems, and use what they learn to address real challenges in their communities.
What We Do
Civics Remix, an initiative of RockStars4Impact, equips young people to use the humanities, AI ethics, community science, and civic action to investigate local challenges and create solutions that serve their communities.
Through Youth America250: A Gift to DC, youth and community volunteers will help log and mark 200 storm drains along the Anacostia Riverwalk using DC Department of Energy and Environment protocols. The collected information will be submitted to Open Data DC to help document storm drain conditions related to urban flooding, pollution, and the health of the Anacostia River.
