I am a high school student who has always had a passion for LEGO® building. In the pandemic, when I did not have much to do apart from attending virtual school, I sought out a way to share this love for LEGO®s with others. This class, which started as a 3-person Zoom meeting, has expanded to reach children in shelters all across DC, and I hope they are all able to benefit from the classes.
What We Do
We collect, sanitize, and sort LEGO® bricks donated by community members before bringing them to homeless shelters around DC to teach children there how to build with LEGO®s. Through play, we aim to foster valuable creativity, collaboration, and engineering skills for the children during a difficult time in their lives.
