Who We Are
Intentionally focusing on advancing equity since the organization’s establishment in 1999, the mission of CompuRecycling Center, Incorporated (CRC) is to fully invest in youth and their families by working as a change agent to strategically improve their health, overall wellness, education, and economic stability by fostering positive youth development, innovating healthcare career and workforce readiness, and providing unique opportunities for health literacy development.
What We Do
CompuRecycling Center's Medical Ascension is an innovative public health program that transforms DC youth into health and wellness stewards for their families, friends, and community members. With its intentional design, Medical Ascension also provides healthcare professional development to youth who live in Ward 7 and Ward 8 as they gain real world clinical healthcare skills and foundational health science knowledge. As youth are activated as community health leaders, Medical Ascension expands access to physical, mental, and emotional health monitoring and screenings for residents in Ward 7 and Ward 8.
